Spring arrived on the meadow and it was fantastic to see the children point out the snowdrops… and the daffodils…and the muddy puddles… lots of fun has been had by all!

When not outside relishing the spring sunshine, the children have been enjoying learning all about our weekly themes. We have had much fun creating pirate hats, pirate parrots and not forgetting trying to talk like a pirate. Celebrating Chinese New Year and getting ready for Easter.

We have also loved reading The Gruffalo together and recreating scenes from the popular book on our pre-school wall.

We have a host of exciting plans this term – first and foremost being the visit of Zoo Lab and all its creatures to entertain and educate our little ones. We are also talking to Rugby Tots, Caterpillar Music and much more – so please do keep visiting our Facebook page to hear our latest news and plans.

As you are no doubt aware the Jubilee celebrations are around the corner – Cuckoo Meadow Pre-School shall certainly be getting involved. We are inviting all parents and carers to a ‘Jubilee Afternoon Tea’ with the children at the end of May, with proceeds going to the pre-school.

As well as this, we will be hosting stalls at the North Waltham Big Jubilee Lunch on Sunday 5th June at Cuckoo Meadow, 12pm-4pm. It’s free to attend and we would love to see you there!

Hats and suncream at the ready…hooray for the approaching warmer days!
