That’s all for now enjoy the sunshine.

Have a good weekend.
Hello from Cuckoo Meadow nearing the end of a very busy week.
We have had lots of visitors this week. First of all Karsten arrived with five lovely birds two of which the children were able to hold. This was a huge success and caused lots of excitement in preschool.
Our second visitor of the week was Laura who is a local vetinary nurse. Dudley the dog made a return visit and was once again bandaged by the children. Another fantastic opportunity for the children to learn all about what happens when their pets go to the vets!
Finally Oxley the cat, which belongs to Martha came to preschool He was very well behaved and let the children stroke him and give him treats. After a quick explore of the preschool room he was popped back into his basket somewhat reluctantly!
Please talk to your children about their experiences and share them with us on Tapestry.
This week we have also made traffic light sandwiches which the children ate for snack. We talked about the meaning of each colour and learnt that not all of our parents stop when the lights turn to red! This has been a great experience and he children have taken everything on board they have learnt.
Just a quick reminder that tomorrow we have our Happy Bags to School collection first thing in the morning so please ensure you bring in any clothes you have collected. Thank you.
Welcome back to preschool for the summer term. We have it on good authority that the weather is on the change and the sun will be shining this week. With this in mind please ensure that your child comes to preschool with 8 hours suncream already applied and also brings in a sunhat. Please also ensure that they wear appropriate clothing and footwear, no crocs please!
Here are some dates for your calendar: Thursday 3rd May no preschool due to local elections
Friday 25th May last day of half term
Monday 4th June return to preschool
Thursday 19th July last preschool day, 20th July party day, leavers presentation more details to follow.
This half term we are looking at people who help us. We are hoping for a visit from the police, a doctor, a physiotherapist and a vet amongst other things. If you know anyone who helps us in some way we would love to hear from you so they could could also share their expertise with the children.
Next week on Monday and Tuesday the owls are making a welcome return. If your child does not attend either of these sessions please speak to Fiona or Jo to arrange coming in to see them. This visit has been made possible due to our parental contributions, if you have not made a contribution we would be very grateful for your support.
On Friday 27th April we have a happy bags to school collection this will give you an ideal opportunity to have a spring clean and support your child’s preschool at the same time.
That’s all for now.
Hello from Cuckoo Meadow. Just a little reminder of dates for your diary. We break up on Thursday 29th March at 3.00 and return for the summer term on Monday 16th April.
If your child is doing extra sessions after Easter please could you confirm with either Fiona or Jo so we can apply for the funding for you before the end of term.
Next week we are looking at the letters ‘y’ and ‘z’ together please bring either one or the other for show and tell! After Easter we will be re-visiting the alphabet and will be looking at two letters every week the first week will be ‘a’ and ‘b’ again please only bring in one or the other.
That’s all for now have a lovely weekend hopefully without snow!
Pre School will be closed today and tomorrow because of the weather, sorry for the inconvenience that this will cause.
We will reopen on Monday, stay safe and warm.
Hello from Cuckoo Meadow. This week we have been looking at spring although next week we are expecting arctic conditions so we may have been a bit premature. On that note please ensure that your children have appropriate clothing such as hats, scarves, gloves and especially a warm coat!
Pancake date came a little late in preschool but the children enjoyed making them, tossing them and eating them just the same. We went on a snowdrop hunt and found some just outside the preschool. If you are out and about with your children at the weekend see if you can find any and share with us on Tapestry.
If your child brings in a satsuma for lunch please ensure it is peeled and wrapped in foil to keep fresh.
We are going to be looking at people who help us after Easter so if you know of anyone who would like to come in and tell the children all about their job we would be thrilled to see them.
That’s all for now, have a good weekend.
